May 2021 I graduated from the University of Memphis with a BFA in Theater Design and Production with a focus in Costume Design and a minor in Spanish. This summer I was finally able to work as a stitcher with the Glimmerglass Festival, following their cancelation the previous year.
While at the University I designed numerous productions from realistic portrayals of the civil rights movement in the theater with Alice Childress' Trouble in Mind, to a campy 90 's inspired version of Jane Austin's Emma by Stephen Karam, and even a devised piece about the Brock Turner trial and the "rape myths" that have formed our society in Shaming Jane Doe. I have also been able to work as a costume and crafts artist to gain a better understanding of costumes and how they work. Now that I have graduated I am planning on spending the next 3-4 years deciding where I want to take my costume career going forward. Which has led me to my current position with the North American Language and Culture Assistants Program in Spain, where I am working with the CRIEC Carboneras school for a year. |
